I am a high-school teacher, Doctorate Student at PSU, long distance hiker, accomplice in life, dad, great friend, pain in the ass, non-conformist, authority challenging, backpacking adventurer that seeks out a greater understanding of everything. I love learning about education, and seek to change the status quo in public high-schools learning model. Some of the outside accomplishments I have are thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 1999, Solo summit of Aconcagua in Argentina in 2004, completing a Masters in Education at the age of 47, Completing the 48 4,000'rs of New Hampshire with my bad ass daughter, #notasnowflake, in November of 2017. She was still 12 at the time. Most importantly, I have been able to find, and hold onto a truly incredible person to share my life and adventures with.
